The attack on Humanitarian Flotilla for Gaza

We are making this statement to correct any disinformation about the 26th may 2010 fleet of 9 ships that was destined for Gaza loaded with humanitarian aid. This effort is to inform people of Israel and general public with accurate facts.

First and foremost, these ships did not set sails against Israel or any other country. These ships set sail for the people of Gaza that have been left alone in the forced state of hunger and depravity due to a very heavy embargo. IHH the Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief is the member of the Free Gaza Movement which has organized flotilla for Gaza, and member of United Nations “Social and Economic Councils” at consultant status. So, IHH is an NGO that has made its mission to help people that have been deprived or victimized in many countries for past 15 years without any distinction of color, cast, creed, religion, race, region, geography. Our foundation has been awarded for its most successful efforts around the world from many prestigious organizations and units. One such example is “Turkish Parliamentary Award of Honor” from the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

IHH is an organization that from Africa’s east to west, Bosnia to Palestine, Vietnam to USA, Afghanistan to Haiti, Greece to Georgia; 120 countries from 5 continents has delivered Human aid and has organized numerous relief efforts.

Israel by illegally stopping this aid effort in the international waters in such an amateur way that resulted in deaths and injuries of the humanitarian workers has been condemned in the conscience of international community. Israel is in an effort of misguiding the public opinion by mass disinformation tactics. As if murdering our workers in cold blood was not enough just after this distressing incident, all our websites were attacked so that actual information flow to the public could be restrained.

Our organization is representing the sensitivities of Turkish public that they have for Gaza public. Our public has been against this kind of injustice all through history. People inflicted by the murderous thought process of inquisition, forced exodus from their homelands, 500 years ago the way our people helped Sephardic Jews from extinction, yet again how our European consulates became a sanctuary for victims of Nazis, today all this is nothing but the part of the same historic sensitivity. Our actions are the result of our tradition of being at the side of the distressed.

Israel public should understand this very clearly that this aid effort has no affiliation with any Palestinian political or official group. This is not a political but a humanitarian effort. The ones who see this any differently are the ones trying to make political gain from this incident. It is not acceptable for us that anybody should divert this purely humanitarian cause for their internal or external political gain.
